Dr Urbano-Ispizua previously served as the Head of the Research Unit of Cell Therapy and Stem Cell Transplantation at the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona, a unit which stands as one of the pioneers of bone marrow transplantation in Europe. Dr Urbano-Ispizua has authored and co-authored over 180 articles in internationally recognised, peer-reviewed journals such as Lancet, Journal of Clinical Oncology and Haematologica. He also serves a member of the editorial board of several journals.
