Dr Ana Bejanariu

Sanofi


Ana holds a Veterinary License, Master’s, and PhD in Veterinary Medicine from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Iași, Romania. She began her career in France in the pharmaceutical industry, joining Theravectys, a biotech company affiliated with the Institut Pasteur. There, she served as Deputy Manager of the Immunomonitoring Platform and later advanced to Manager of Preclinical Evaluation and Immunomonitoring position. In this role, Ana oversaw both internal and external resources for the in vivo and in vitro preclinical evaluation of various vaccine candidates (veterinary and human purposes). Her work included characterizing immune responses, toxicity, biodistribution, efficacy, and carcinogenicity of lentiviral vectors across multiple animal models, including humanized and immunocompromised mice, immunocompetent mice, rats, non-human primates, pigs, dogs, horses, and cats.

 

Driven by a strong interest in Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs), Ana joined I-STEM, a research institute funded by AFM-Téléthon, as a Preclinical Project Manager. There, she contributed to the cross-functional management of cell-based therapy projects, gaining valuable experience in the development of novel cell type based therapies and medical devices. Her work spanned early development, CMC challenges, preclinical studies, and clinical trial implementation.

 

Ana currently works at Sanofi as a Senior Nonclinical Safety Project Expert. In this role, she collaborates closely with pharmacologists, pharmacokineticists, and other specialists to evaluate a wide range of therapeutic modalities. Passionate about toxicology, she is committed to identifying and characterizing potential toxicities in preclinical systems to better anticipate outcomes in clinical trials.
