Director of the French « Grand Défi Biomédicaments »

Emmanuel Dequier is in charge of the French « Grand Défi Biomédicament » (National Challenge Biomedicines) whose objective is improving yields and control production costs.

He previously held the position of Director of Research and Technology Platforms at Genopole, France’s leading biocluster.

For more than 10 years, he worked to develop the Evry innovation ecosystem by bringing together academic research laboratories and biotechnology companies.

 

He was able to coordinate the implementation of industrials tools dedicated to biobanks, as part of the first wave of the Investissements d’Avenir programs (Future Investments Programs).

He also supported the Genopole Bioproduction program, which was designed to set up one of the first research centers dedicated to the production of therapeutic biological molecules for the clinic.

 

Emmanuel Dequier also spent 5 years in industry in the UK where he worked for the global agronomy group Syngenta, before joining the biotech company Summit PLC where he was responsible for developing their chemical-genomics programs.

 

He graduated from the University Denis Diderot with a Magister in Applied Genetics and from the University Pierre et Marie Curie with a PhD in cellular and molecular genetics.
