Director of GMP Plasmid Manufacturing plant

Jean-Luc Schlick holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Sciences University of Franche-Comté (Besancon, Fr). He is a co-founder of RD-BIOTECH SAS founded in 2002 with Philippe Dulieu and Jean-François Musard. In 2002, he was head of the Molecular Biology Laboratory and developed plasmid manufacturing in the company. In 2007, he took in charge the Business Development and was also at the origin of the offer of services for plasmid production in High Quality Grade. Since 2020 he leads the team in charge of the GMP plasmid manufacturing project. For more than 20 years now, RD-Biotech is a trusted partner internationally well-known, for its activities in pDNA, mAbs and recombinant proteins engineering and manufacturing, dedicated to preclinical and clinical research programs. In 2019-2020, RD-Biotech was actively involved in pDNA manufacturing for the BioNTech “LightSpeed Program for mRNA vaccine project” linked to COVID19 pandemia. Due to the fast-growing demand in pDNA for various application like mRNA, gene therapy or cell therapy, RD-Biotech started, at the end of 2021, to build a new pDNA GMP-grade production facility near its new building based in Besançon. The new facility will be operating in 2023 and will complement the current pDNA “R&D” grade and “High Quality Grade” biomanufacturing capacities of RD-Biotech.
